Another slam

Right now it looks like Hannah is going to be a minor storm going up the east coast. Something for them to worry about but not a major storm. But Ike, is another animal. Either the east coast of the gulf coast is going to get hit pretty hard. All the models I see look like it's close to 50 - 50 where it goes. But the pressure is getting pretty low, at 945 mb, so it is going to be a serious problem what ever it does. Think I will just leave my boat as is, till more track info. is available. Just too much of a PITA to get it secured.

This is not going to be a good year for a lot of people.

The strange thing is that without the internet and the news, for people on the east coast, Gustave would have happened completely without our knowledge. A TS Hanna is gonna be just a very wet and windy day here tomorrow had we not been told that it is a tropical storm. We have Nor'easters that are this bad but with snow.

I am not liking this

And as the track looks to be shifting a little more west, I like it even less.

I Feel

For you all Nice n Easy. My cousins live there in Slidell and I don't even think they have finished rebuilding their homes. They are two blocks off the Lake and lost everything in Katrina. I don't see how you all can take another one, and this Ike sure looks to me like it is coming your way. Batten down the hatches may be in order. Good luck, my thoughts and prayers will be with you all. I hope you fare well.

Man I am glad I didn't put up my hurricane lines! Guess I will get in a nice sail tomorrow out to Petit Bois Island. Then look forward this week to putting boat BACK out in the middle of the Inner Harbor.... Price you pay for living here! Frank

By this time next week I fear that new Orleans will e in the head

lines once again. my sister-in-law lives in Baton Rouge and does not remember such distruction in nearly 40 years.

Ross, I feel for her

Baton Rouge really got hammered by Gustav. Worst they have ever gotten hit, at least according to local news. While New Orleans may have the biggest whiners, Baton Rouge is really much the worse for wear. Sure hope Ike gives us a pass down here. Getting kind of tiring.
