Hunter 26 Forward Hatch
I feel your pain, this past June, I walked forward of the same hatch on our boat and "brushed" past, Bang, a crack from corner to corner. I spoke with Mike at Hunter and ordered a replacement,I believe it was $152.00. The price may have increased since they discontinued the 26, Mike told me that the original manufacturer was still producing the replacements. If you order a new hatch, be careful with the sealing grommets. These are a blacktar like circle that surround the top and bottom washers that seal the screw holes. We changed ours in the water, not recommended as they need to be pried of and kept under control. The washer and sealer pieces like to swim. If possible, see if the sealant washers are available, it would make the whole change out process much easier, we were unaware that were a seperate part. Good luck, and be careful with the interior hatch screws in the future. They can cause the hatch to develop stress cracks and promote further damage.J. R. Setser1998 Hunter 26 S/V Lifetimestoo
