I have just purchased a 1978 Hunter 25'. Great shape but would like to dress up the wood work. What kind of wood is used in the cabin around the counter, bulkheads, and the ladder. It would help me in refinishing. Thanks

My preference

The interior of my 1979 H25 is a mix of teak and holly. There are two sides to treating the wood. Some prefer the more durable finish of varnishes or Cetol. Others prefer the oil finish. Quite frankly, I prefer the oil. I originally used a lemon oil but switched to coconut oil. I find the coconut oil smell more pleasing and less pungent. The finish looks great. I redo the oil twice during the season (once in the spring and once in the fall). Purchased at Boat US.

teak oil on mahogany

I think my 74 H25 has mahogany interior. Can I use teak oil on it?
