Hunter VIsion 36 crosses the Pacific!

Okay, it hasnt yet but the trip is in the works. Departure from Vancouver in August 2007, destination Tahiti and beyond. Clearly there are better boats, but this is the one I have. What do you think?

Actually, I think she'd be a great boat for passagemaking. Just the usual mods for a deep #3 reef, etc. Have fun! RD

What I think

is that you should spend every available dollar you have on weather instrumentation and storm avoidance technology -- and that you should buy as much life insurance for your family as you can afford. Good luck...

Been there and done that . . . .

OK, so ours is a 42,but its the sailor, not the boat. We've done it twice, and we saw many many smaller boats. One of our friends from Dutch Harbor, Alaska, did it in a 29. And another friend, from Newport Beach, CA, did it in a 30. The boat will definitely handle it. Fair winds and following seas. Paul
