I am considering buying a Vision 32. In talking with some other Hunter owners at the marina, they tell me that the Vision 32, due to the forward placement of the mast, will turn downwind if the wheel is released, rather than into the wind. Has anyone experienced this?

There isn't really too much alien with the Vision in terms of sailing. It will point, probably higher than you think. As to windward or leeward when you release the wheel, it depends on your sail trim, windspeed, and point of sail. Mine will want to go to windward in moderate winds, upwind. Talk your friends into taking one out. A good sail is worth a lot of opinions. RD

Vision Pointing
I think she points quite well. As Rick said, take her out for a sail. She is simple to sail short-handed, yet fun for a whole crew to kick in!
