I took delivery on my new Hunter 326 on March 1. It's a great boat in many respects...BUT I ordered the factory bimini and dodger. They are poor, at best. The bimini sags (which is a bad thing with all the Northwest rain because it collects and doesn't drain), and the cloth seems to be of light weight. The dodger fits poorly, it looks baggy. PLus one of the studs for attachment for the coach roof broke on my first sail. Finally, I expected the two of them to attach, via a zipper, like most dodger/bimini combos I've seen. What experience have you new Hunter owners had with this? Thanks! Scott

go back to the dealer !

go back to the dealer and have them repair/replace the canvas. It should fit tight. As far as the bimimi and the dodger connecting there is usual a third piece (sometimes called a "fly")that zips in to the dodger and bimimi connecting them into one unit. This most likely would have been an option.

Sailing Life?

Scott, I am thinking that you purchased the boat from Sailing life in Portland,if so, contact Marge. She was the owner last time I checked. When we were looking for a Hunter 2 years ago, we ran across several people who said Sailing life was reputable company. I am pretty sure they would want you to be happy. If not I would like to know...just for future reference. Mike

Response to Mike

Mike, The Sailing Life has been good. They are working on the canvas, as well as some other warranty items. The owner is actually Karen. So far, I would recommend them, so good luck with your boat-buying decision. Scott

Clear Plastic Cover

Scott, I had the same issues as you did with your canvas, we had a clear plastic piece attached to the Dodger and Bimini. It worked out GREAT. As for it catching water, that is, as far as I can tell, very nornal. I have spoke to several people of all kinds of boats, including smudge pots, they all said that is nornal. Thin is good, it is made of UV resistant material. It will not degrade(should not)and heavy canvas is what it is HEAVY. Frank PS Have you gotten your curtains yet? When we took our boat home they said it would be at least the end of March maybe April. And to all others who may ask.....We love our new Hunter 326 but, it is what it is. It was not made for World travel. And we have already installed the cabin heater and extra LPG tank. After all, we are a family of 4 and have been very comfortable for up to 5 days at a time.

Frank, I got the accordian window shades. I like them a bunch after using them. I just got done with a week long cruise on the Columbia, and I wish I had a cabin heater!! See my new review for more info.
