Hunter Stanchion Base, HELP! :(

Hi, Can anyone Help? We had a collision a few weeks back with our 1984, 31' hunter sailboat, where our stanchion base was broken off.
Apparently, its "VERY" hard to find this type of stanchion to replace it.
Hunter needs 60 days to ship it out, I have looked all over the internet, it can't be welded, ( as its white/pot metal?) Have checked all the local marine junk/resale shops and no one has ever even seen this model stanchion base before. I really don't want to loose half the season with the life lines unsafe, as we have kids and new sailors aboard. Does anyone know where I can get a "LARGE" hunter stanchion base, its about 4" tall, possibly 5" wide across the base and attaches to the toe rail. Seems to be cast, not aluminum. Any help offered is appreciated. Oh, and its broken in 3 places, so it can't be apoxied or screwed. thanks-

We have a batch of them coming in, first production run, and it's still about 60 days out. Once we have them, though, they'll be in stock.

Thank you, I may have to just wait and find some other fix for now until then, but I hate to not have it properly secure.

Very weird design. What holds the tubing to the base? Almost looks like something a machine shop could fabricate for temporary use.

Thanks Mike, no I haven't listed this but I will try.
I think bolts and screws hold it in.

We thought about a machine shop or just rig another
Until it comes in.

make one from solid oak. It won't last forever but it will last for a season.

Wow! That's brilliant. We just redid the floor in solid mahogany planks.
We can use what's left over to make a stanchion.
At least until the real one come in.

You may call Bacon Sails in Annapolis and see if you can send a pic if that base, they have a pretty good inventory of oddball used parts like that.

If you through-bolt it the strength will be adequate.

I too am searching for stanchion base. Mine looks very much like in your photos. Have you had any luck yet?

We had to make a change to the prototype so they're not in yet, but we should be getting close. We'll certainly make an announcement when they're ready.
