Hunter Sailboat Exchange

I am considering a 2 week exchange of my 1996 Hunter 430 for a similar size Hunter in the Caribbean. I sail out of Lake Ontario which funnels into the 1000 Islands. The 1000 Islands are situated where Lake Ontario turns into the St. Lawerence River. The last Canadian Olympics held the sail boat races in this area. The wind blows 15-20 knots each afternoon. The views are beautiful and there are lots of towns to visit. There is a network of both U.S. and Canadian government islands where one can tie up or anchor. Has anyone ever tried to exchange their boat ? Our winters are long and it seems like a good idea to increase the season at a nominal cost to both boat owners. No long distance travel time, less wear and tear on the boat. How do you handle insurance and potential damage to the boat? How do you judge the other captains skill level? I would be very interested to hear your thoughts and comments.

I chartered a canadian owned hunter 430 in the BVI last month from Trade Wind Yachts, maybe the owners of " Changes in Latidudes" would be interested in an exchange. Or if you are interested in Lake Simcoe or Georgan Bay, I have a h28.5 call 905 722 5555
