Did you have to tell Ronco that the waste pump out pipe was going to be at the top of tank? Move waste tanks have the pump out output at the bottom. Have you had any issues with the new hose connections being 90deg as they enter the tank? the originals were on the bottom. Have the tank removed - looking to order the new one.

Also what did you use to paint the area where the tank goes? How did you prep the surface?
We used a tank that was just like the one that came out. I used bilge paint on the hull before I installed the new tank.

New water forward water tank. I have been talking with Ronco about building a new tank. They say they have a number of calls for this tank. I called DURA-WELD but their tanks are a bit pricey. If you are thinking about replacing this tank let me know - if Ronco has enough potential orders the tank from the them would be less. I am trying to scope out the proper dimensions as the original dimensions (noted in this thread) won't fit through the door - I am thinking 17 1/2" high - that would fit would the door molding removed. Would the rest of the original dimensions then work?
I had the one dimension changed to 17 1/2" so it would fit thru the door. I also had the angle taken out that the fill and vent lined were in. Our new tank came with screw in fittings. I also had the top of the tank made larger by 4" because there was extra room at the top along the sides by the hull.

Ronco installs fittings in the sizes, quantities and locations specified by the customer. You'll send 'em a copy of the tank drawing showing where you want 'em and what size. If you want your discharge fitting on the top of the tank--which I highly recommend if you have enough clearance above the top of the tank (at least 5" for a 1.5" elbow)--specify that on your drawing. They'll supply the pickup tube, cut to the depth of your tank, too. 90 degree fittings shouldn't be any problem unless you put 'em in the wrong place.

If you'd like some help spec'ing your fittings--or selecting a tank/tank location (builders rarely put 'em in a good one), give me a shout...I'll be glad to help you.

Thanks. Ordered the tank. In the passage42 the top of the waste tank is just under the floor. So the elbow will end up being same height as tank. This seems to work well enough the problem with the tank is small holes that wee allowing sepage. I have left waste in the tank for a month with no additional smell

Where did you purchase water tanks? I bought the forward one from duraweld. Wondering if there is another option for port tank

Both water tanks were bought from Dura weld. Now about vent fitting hole... First, I was surprised, Ronco made it on the side of the tank, but during installation I quickly realize that it was done with purpose. After you install barbed fitting for waste pump out, look through vent hole to inside of the tank to see if your pick up tube still located vertical, because while installing fitting it can be turned to one side or another and then you won't be able to pump your tank empty. Pay great attention to that, or you'll be carrying some waste all the time and will be surprised why tank is full so fast. Also, check if your vent hose not clogged before connecting to the tank-very important.
As I said before, I bought Shields Poly-x hose for my waste tank plumbing and I'm really happy I did. The hose is really flexible and easy to put on fittings. Most expensive hose, but really the best.!

Ordered the front water tank. Have not put it in yet. Just barely fit through door (with frame off). It looks good - next step install it. The port tank will need to wait until next year

Did you have it manufactured to the same dimensions as Dean on TTAC? Or did you use some other dimensions? (I'm ordering mine and plan to install it next season when I get back to NZ).

Same as dean. I want to replace the port tank as well but the work to get it out plus the cost of $995 per tank put me in the mindset to do one and then another.

I was talking with ronco about building one; however, their tank would not have a baffle in it. So I opted for the dura-weld.

I did buy a holding tank from Ronco have not installed it yet.

Will post pics as well. if on fb you can find me at S/V Puesta del Sol. I am sure dean documented version on fb will be better I am not as diligent at taking pics

If you want to talk send me private message and I will drop you a phone number
