Folks, I've read so many great articles and seen lots of links to personal web sites where many of you have logged and photoed (Fred Ficarra comes to mind) much of your upgrades and boat projects. I'd like to get a thread started that has a link to everyone's home web site. Then perhaps we could pursuade Phil to add links to these Hunter owners sites *! In any case, although I am a brand new Hunter owner with a new and pretty bare and basic site so far, I'll start it off with mine: http://sailingforever.home.comcast.net Hope to see the rest of you all join in with your site address! Regards to all! -Jim- s/v Forever

I like it -- but how about this?

You're right, Jim, it's looooong past time we had links to people's personal wbe sites, as there are some great ones out there. But... instead of turning this into a laborious project to hard code, how about we do this: - I'll create a new fields in the owner directory to enter a personal web site and a brief descrition of what's there. - I will also add a link that will display all the web sites by owner name or model, with the link and description. That way, you get both the list of sites plus a link to a site if you you're looking up someone in the directory by name or boat name. Sound like a plan? Your lazy web admin, ph.

Project Announcement

Phil, when the new fields are ready, you should put a notice on the front page to tell interested parties to go to their "boat page" and update it where appropriate. The notice will also tell others that such information is now available.

Yes to web page fields

Some of us have entered our web page in other fields. (Ours is in the Expertise field.) But I think a dedicated field would encourager more posts. http//home.att.net/~radars S/V Camelot out

Huh? Go what? :)

Here's the mastrer plan, guys. As we convert over to the new forums (which require registration) every user will have a unique ID number which allows the server to track your forum preferences. That same ID number can be used to tie together all your forum posts (even, in some cases, from the old archives), your photos, boat reviews, etc. This will all be rolled up into a personal "home page" for you on HOW, so people using the site will be able to see your profile, read your boat reviews, tracking your photo articles, etc. If we get really ambitious you'll even be able to log in on youir home page and track your chandlery orders, past and present. this web site idea just folds right in -- and thanks to Jim for getting the ball rolling. I will work on it today or tomorrow -- should take too long -- and promote it when done.
