I have a Hunter 23' that spends its summers on a bouy on Lake Mendota, in Madison, WI. We had very little snow and the lake level is low. It is four feet at the bouy. The 23 has a winged keel and draws 2 feet. Is this enough water or should I wait for spring rains? David

You have to remember that at 20 degrees heel ...

you are probably drawing 2.5 feet with the wing and if you have wakes from power boats you might loose another foot. Other than that you can always step off and push. Vic

Is the lake likely to drop more?

I would think you're pretty close right now, if there's any wake or storm you might bounce off the bottom. If the bottom's sand or mud this probably won't matter much but if it's rock, ouch. More importantly, is the lake likely to drop more before the rains come? If so, you might find yourself stuck. Good luck, Jim
