Hunter Miami?????????

Hunter 36 Punta Gorda
Went to Miami sailboat show on Sunday and thought I read that
the new Marlow Hunter 37&40 would be at the show but neither
was at the show on Sunday and just the 31.
I so much wanted to see the new 37 & 40 but did get to see so many
other sailboats for sure and I did get a great price new 35 Mantus anchor and can't to try it out.

The Hunter 40 was at the Miami Boat Show, but just before it opened the President of Marlow-Hunter saw that the Hunter 40 hull was scratched-up and had it removed from the boat show. To see the Hunter 37, you needed to go over to the Sailtime boats right next to the Marlow-Hunter 31. It was a rather poor showing by Marlow-Hunter. I am not sure where their priorities are right now. The guys back at the factory are great, but ownership keeps screwing it up!

I don't know, is the Miami show loosing its luster, the recession still affecting the boat market or Marlow Hunter in a cost cutting mode ? You don't pull your "headliner" for scratches that could be buffed out or covered by a banner. These are sailors and they understand scratches they would be fine with seeing the insides end equipment.

Well I did go to the Hunter sailboats and asked after I saw only the 31
and they said the 40 was there but some place else on sunday and yes
Marlow Hunter shame on you and how do you plan to sell boats at a sailboat show,the year before last Hunter had many
size sailboats and when I purchased my H-36 in 2006 at Newport lucky for them Hunter had at least a 1/2 dozen models and was planning to buy a 33 but we decided on the H-36 after comparing the 2 boats.
There was plenty of other sailboats to see any way and yes with construction going on at the docks was confusing but all and all plenty of venders all over
selling so much boating equipment and I did spend $$$$$ on different equipment for my H-36 and so I was only a little unhappy waiting to see the new hunter in person.

I was actually more surprised at the lack luster showing by hunter, especially as compared to Catalina. I only saw the 31 & the 33.

When I was a dealer for Hunter, we were offered dealer financing, incentives to customers to buy boats and others things to make sales happen. If that is not in place, then I wonder if this is one reason why only two boats were seen in Miami. I wonder if things would improve is there was a change of ownership.

We were also disappointed with Hunter's (lack of) presence. We would have had a serious look at the 50 CC had it been there.

I only saw 2 Catalina's at the show but Benn had a lot of boats but any way
I thought the show was very good for buying and seeing new things for boats.
I would go again for sure and maybe because of other show's up in New England or else where is why bad showing.
But when I was looking to buy new back in 2006 up in New England my head would spine at all the models by all the boat builders for sure and thank god
they had plenty on display and we did up our choice from a 33 to our now 36
but many times I would really love to have a 41 Hunter for sure but to be honest living here in SW Fl. I don't want to increase my draft.
Thank you Hunter for building a very well built Sailboat back in 2006 and we have been very happy with our choice of our H-36.
When I race my crew always has nothing but good things about how well my boat handles and just everything about it and when we go cruising with many other sailboaters they love coming to our boat for relaxing and Happy Hour.

Spent 2 days at the boat show. Didn't see anything i like better than our boat. We have our 79 Hunter Cherubini fixed to suit us. Was fun to be at the show.

you have probably got one of the best hunters ever built and the most sought after...you and Mary have done a very nice job on your boat
