looking to purchase 1991 37.5 and are curious how owners re bed hdwe ie: stantion supports on deck and Genny track. Very little access. Hunter customer service told me their is Alum or ss plates laminated into deck and cabin roof that 10/24 machine screws are tapped into, thus requiring no backing plate. System sounds acceptable in principle but would like to hear from owners as to their experiences. Thank you in advance for your imput. chic

Chic, Our 91 37.5 has never had anything re-beded and doesn't leak a drop. The stanchions and track are plenty strong. The traveler supports, wench plates etc have never given us any problems. I go with the premise that if not broke don't fix. I routinely check the bedding areas I can access, i.e. under the wenchs, to ensure they are still pliable and not hard or cracking but have never found a reason to remove and re-bed. Its a great boat. You won't be disappointed. Les

Embedded aluminum
I recently installed additional rope clutches on both sides of my companionway on the cabin top, and removed/retightened bolts in the steering pedestal base, and found aluminum plates embedded in the fiber glass at all three locations. This in on a 1989 H30G. I think it is standard Hunter practice to either embed aluminum plates or provide interior access covers at most locations where deck hardware would normally be installed. But I'm not offering any guarantees.
