I think the design works fine. I've had the boat over 10 years, and the line always held the CB up tight with no sag. I have no pressure on the CB as there is nothing under it while on the lift (where its been the last 10 years except for the 1 year I had my seawall/dock replaced after Hurricane Ian). I'm hoping the line will stretch fully and set, then I'll re-adjust it. Everything else seems to be ok as far as I can tell.
