Hunter Factory Davits

Has anyone added the hunter factory davits to theirnew hunter.I saw them on a 41 and was wondering if hunter makes them for the new 36.Were they worth the money compared to other add on davitsand how did you like them..I thought they looked good on this new 41 at my dealerand looked like maybe they would be good on my 36 Nick

I saw them for the first time last week at my dealerand I really like the way they looked and like you said very easy to install.I will be calling hunter to see if they make them to for my 36 and how much they charge.I still have not sailed our new 36 yet so we are stilldeciding about davits or just towing.But if we go with davits we like the hunter factory ones,I think all davits have the swinging problem also. Brian,

the davit assembly is supposed to come with stabilizing arms which brace across the gunnels of the dink and then hang from the davit on a pin. The dink should then be secured using spring lines.Steve Kamp,Hunter 38 Carolina

Thanks Steve, but....

The arms were designed for the Hunter Liberty and do not even come close to fitting on my RIB. Trust me, I tried. I want to be able to use the stabilizing arms with it fully raised or with the dinghy lowered to the level of the stern pulpit (better when sailing so you cann see behind you.
