Hunter Chain Plate Problems ?

Hey,
I own a 1995 , 40.5 Hunter Legend. My Insurance Agent advised me that some Hunters sailboats in my age category have been experiencing chain plate failures. Apparently one was de-masted ?? An investigation reviled a severely rusted chain plate..

Can anyone help me out here ?

I had a 1991 P42 for some years, and have not really heard any significant failures in the hunter boats....does not mean you shouldn't check yours, or at least the cuts where they need sealing and capping. Or hardware below decks.

Please disregard my message about the Chain Plate.. I talked to Hunter and there have been no reported problems..
