on my 50, there is an engine alarm that sounds when you first start the engine and stops after the engine is running. Recently this audible alarm has started beeping after the engine is running, oil pressure good, water temp is good and all other system info looks normal. Any thoughts on what to look for?

Bad pressure or temp alarm switch, pretty common for both the gauge sensor and the alarm ones to go bad.

Can you tell me specifically what I would need to test and or change?

Is your boat equipped with an M200 engine monitoring system? Do you have a small screen on the port side of your port wheel which shows engine data, then you have the M200. The beeping may be telling you maintenance is needed. Contact MBW Technologies for assistance, they took over the product.

Yes my boat does have the M200 system however the beeping is not coming from there. I have had the maintenance warning come up on this system and have the instructions to reset. The beeping is coming from the round black beeper located next to the key. Sometimes it beeps slowly and at times it beeps quicker. The beeping is not as loud as when you first tune the key on and the system goes through its initial start up process.

Probably the reason no one is answering this is that it is a simple thing and people feel if you don't know that then telling you the answer wouldn't help.

You probably have 2 oil and 2 temperature sensors on the engine, 1 each for the gauge and 1 for the alarm. To identify which is which, with the engine running and displaying oil pressure/temp pull the wire off a sensor to see if the display goes away or not, if it doesn't it is an alarm sensor. get the number off the alarm sensor and look it up for a replacement and replace it.

On my new to me 50 I thought the "round black beeper" is for the high water alarm. On my 07 41 DS the same beeper is located near the Yanmar engine instruments on the starboard seat coming. I think the M200 has a separate buzzer near the inside of the keyswitch,

Alarms for the engine - low oil pressure, high water temperature, low water flow, and what else could it be?
