Hunter 49 water tank mystery

We used our boat over the weekend and I took several showers in the forward cabin. People used the galley heavily as well as the forward and aft heads. Yet... for some reason, the starboard water tank ran empty and the other two tanks (filled from the port side) were completely topped off, even after the long weekend. So, the only thing we DIDN'T use was the aft shower. So, how are these tanks still full? Is there some way to use use the full tanks when the galley tank runs out? Any advice is appreciated. I left without looking in the owner's manual. The plumbing schematic probably illustrates this. Thank you for any tips. Bernie

Most boats have all their tanks connected to a manifold with individual valves from the tanks. Most skippers learn early on that only one valve should be opened at a time because the pressure water pumps sometimes don't shut off if more than one tank is opened at a time. Also, switching from tank-to-tank-to-tank keeps you aware of tank levels if you don't have sensors.

Maybe you took Navy showers? :)

Usually the questions we get are how come the tanks are empty!

Yep that's it pull up the board covering the bilge. On the aft portion of the bilge you will find a manifold with each of the tanks marked just close the open one and open another.
