I have noticed a leak at the point where the mast compression post enters the boat in the main salon, (2006 Hunter 45 CC) where it is attached to the underside of the deck, below the mast. Water runs down the compression post every time the boat is washed. I have checked the small coverred box at the base of the mast where the wires enter the boat and it appears to be tight and well sealed. Have any other Hunter 45 CC owners experienced this type of problem. Thanks, Jeff

Hi Jeff, our boats are very similar and...

I had just such a leak when we purchased Belle-Vie in 2002. The Knowledge Base link below describes what I did to fix it. It has not leaked a drop since. Terry http://kb.sailboatowners.com/brand?post=356

45CC compression post leak

I had the exact same leak-it seems that during construction not enough chaulking was placed under the plate the mast sits on. The dealer corrected the problem by lifting the mast up about a foot removed the plate and rebedded it- the whole process took about four hours. One of the workers later told me that Hunter located the factory worker responcible for this oversite and has corrected the problem. I guess we were not the first with this leak. Glorioso Hull 125
