Can anyone provide advice on how to remove the overhead interior light so that we can replace the bulb? We don't want to just start prying the light fixture off for fear we will damage the fixture. We need to replace a bulb in one of our lights. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, you DO pry the white ring off -- carefully, since they can crack (speaking from experience, here!) The halogen bulb inside simply pulls out. Try to handle the new bulb with a paper towel or something similar because you don't want to get skin oil on the surface. You may find your problem isn't the bulb. Sometimes corrosion will cause the fixture to fail.
