My boat has a Hellamarine 8504 combo masthead/floodlight fixture. The masthead (steaming) light is out. I just spent an unsuccessful half hour up there trying to get at the steaming light bulb. Anybody know how you get the thing out. Thanks
The steaming light lens is held inlace by two screws, as I recall. Bulb itself just twists off and out. Push in slightly then turn counterclockwise to remove. Replaced it a few years ago with an LED bulb from MarineBeam. The deck light lens parted ways long ago. I replaced the original halogen bulb with a miniature LED deck light bulb from MarineBeam that turns out to be brighter than the halogen. In order to protect the deck light bulb from being swept away by a flogging headsail during tack changes, I made an aluminum bracket that surrounds the bulb.
