I see many ads and brochures that say you can convert your salon table and seats into a double bed. I can't figure out how to do this on our boat. Has anyone ever been able to really convert the table into a bed?

The salon table on our 1991 P42 has a ....
clamp on the table post that allows the table to drop down to the same level as the bench seat. The starboard setee seat cushion fits onto the table and into the contoured area of the bench seat cushion. By removing the bench backrest cushions you now have a double sized berth. It does not make the best of sea berths but it does work, at least on our boat it does. Terry

Thank you for that information. We tried it and it works!! We had not been using the seat cushion from the other side of the boat to fill in the table space. The seat cushion from the center seat was too small.
