It’s not a good idea to run a microwave from the inverter you have.

Unsure why the need for a step down transformer. The microwave works fine whether connected to shore power with one 30amp cord, or inverter.

Hi Eian, an Xantrex Freedom 25. It replaced the original Heart Interface 1600 around 2003. It was a re-certified unit purchased from their website. It has worked great over the years.

No. Marina provides reliable 30 amp service to all boats and ours is connected at all times while in our slip.

now i am confused- I thought you said you were still 110v, NZ is 240v- does your marina offer 110V?

Sorry for the confusion. Our marina offers 110v AC. While away, the Genset keeps our house bank up to snuff.
