I have spent 2 years trying to seal my fridge and freezer lids- tried multiple different types of seal- NOTHING has been successful. Hunter don't list anything on our forum shop- does anyone know a source for the original style seal material?
I added a layer of standard 1/4" one side sticky weather seal to the seal in the boxes of my 410 and it made a big difference and has worked for 3 years now. I also finally got tired of battling with the plastic latches and just took them off and found the the lids seal better now just using their weight.
I used closed cell foam tape. there are different thicknesses and densities. I find it works well on the freezer and on the lazerettes to keep dust out.
I found the original dealer for the freezer and refrigerator gaskets used by Hunter for my 40.5. Dealer is Refrigeration Hardware Supply Corp. RHS - Refrigeration Hardware Supply Corporation 800-423-2446.
My Hunter 42 has new coolant motors/pumps and draw roughly 5-8 amps and were running almost constantly. I placed a rubber plug in the drains and now the systems draw less the 3 amps and run for a few minutes per hour. Freezer at warmest setting is 6 degrees and needs to be defrosted one time per month. Refer stays at 36 degrees at warmest setting.
