Hi, Dijobi777! I dropped my rudder when it became overly hard to steer the boat. You remove the floor board covering the mechanism, unbolt the rudder post (DON'T strip thebolts!) jump on the post until it drops, and do what you need to do. Obviously - the boat needs to be up at least two feet for the rudder to drop out all the way (it weighs about 50 pounds or so) In my case I sanded down the teflon "collar" and greased it before putting everything back together. It steers like a dream now! Bill on STARGAZER
