Just as a FYI i took those OEM plastic latches off my freezer and frig lids at least 6 years ago and the system worked as good without them (better i think) and i have full time cruiser the past 3.5 years. But Ii would like some latches that definitely pulled the lids down tight without taking a lot of counter space.Who has replaced their stupid plastic lid latches with something bettter? What you use?
Well I doubt it came from the factory that way. So did you do it and if so how about some pics and details?Plastic? My refrigerator/freezer lids are recessed stainless steel latches that release with a 90 degree turn. I have a 1998 H410.
Ditto here. Mis-alignment usually causes them to fail. Our 1991 boat came with these stupid plastic latches throughout (about 30). Both the fridge and freezer each have two. In all these years I've replaced two. One on the freezer and one on a cabinet. Just do not make things to last these days. I like them and have a couple of spares just in case. No plan to change.I think the alignment of those latches is the key. Some of mine are original since I've owned my 410 for 7 years.
