hunter 380 shaft whining

I just hauled my hunter 380 to paint the bottom. When I splashed it, it now has a high pitched whine that varies with prop speed. In neutral, if the boat is moving it also whines. I suspect something with the cutlass bearing that dried out while it was on the hard. Any ideas? I can make it go away by finding an engine speed that , I suppose, takes the noise out of my hearing range.

Probably caused by paint on the leading edge of the prop. It will wear off in a couple of hours of the prop spinning.
