Hunter 380 Dumb and dumber
This is the third year I have had my hunter and the first time I have had a problem with the in mail furling. I noticed on a recent sail that the top of the mail sail was wringled aand could not be straigthen out. We went up the mast and pulled the sail out, but it went right back to the same situation. Our boat yard said that this was a design flaw with the furling rod and could not be corrected. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

Twist inside Mast

We recently experienced a twisted main inside the mast. I had to release the main halyard to allow the sail to be pulled out. Then it only pulled out part way. We pulled the sail down and off the furler. Later in the day and under ideal conditions we re-hoisted the sail. I guessed that the problem of the twist in the main as it was furled occured because when we first hoisted it we did it in somewhat of a cross wind at the slip. The problem has not recurred, yet. Is this your experience and has your problem recurred? Have you contacted Selden?
