Hello,

I cannot make a confortable bed with my dinnette table. It is not possible to lower completly. Do I have to modify this ? Somebody have an idea?

Re: More Info Needed

2005 is the year of build. I think that I will have to cut legs at least 5 inches to have a good height. Does it make sense ? I don't think so ...
I added a picture on my album in my profile.

Adjust

It looks like you have two poles holding up the table and my 2007 36 has one pole that I adjust that lowers the table down to a bed, there is a black knob toward the base that allows the pole to slide down to allow the table to drop down.
I have only used my table recently and did find very hard lowering and than raising the table it was very hard adjusting the table poles it was not easy and had to have help doing so,are you sure you are not getting those poles to lower properly.
I would think that your 2005 is is suppose to lower the table that way also.

Table

It lowers like Seadaddler stated however it will still be the table thickness higher than the surrounding seats.
I had the same year Hunter/same color, hull #11 with the same problem. The table top is cut too large. The table drops and overlays on top of the storage/seating area resulting in a thickness of the top standing proud of the seat. It also does not give you any room to slide around the table easily. My solution would have been to cut the top down or replace just the top (not the mounting box). Then install a rail the table top thickness below the storage /seat area for a lip that the top would rest on. The top would then be flush with the seats when compressed. Instead, for that and other reasons I purchased a 2009 38 foot in which Hunter corrected this problem and did just this.

This sounds like a similar problem I had with my 1994 Vision 36. I had an oversized table screwed to a smaller table. The oversized table would not go down low enough for me to properly position the cushions to make the berth.

I took the oversized table off, (it was too big to even use the settees), and remade a soild teak table to match the smaller table concealed under that big POS table top.

We can now make the berth up easily and it is comfortable to sit around and use the table, (eventhough it is smaller).

Sounds like Hunter "strikes again" with improper design work. They put the same size salon tables in many similar sized boats - some work - some don't. Would have thought they'd at least test to see if the table lowers far enough to make the bed....
