I just purchased a 1996 376 and I am looking for an advice/problems people have seen regarding this boat.

A Great Boat

Steve you bought one of Hunters best. I have one too, an early hull #. Only unsolvable problems are anchor locker location and difficult to raise Main. Reef early!

Great Boat Too

Steven, Add to Mark's comments...we have a 97...have added a lot of stuff over the past few years...including a fully enclosed cockpit which expanded our season on the bay a lot ....great boat! We are on the bay and if you want to compare notes or ask specific questions about what we have added, send us an email at windchaser1@cox.net. Grayson and Valorie S/V Wind Chaser

We have same boat

and really enjoy it. I have also made a few modifications which we feel were very benefical to the safety and comfort of the boat. Ours is a 98 but I'm sure the same would apply to yours. The major improvement is to the swim ladder, which is a must in my opinion. E-mail me at DCRainville@earthlink.net if interested.

Swim ladder response

I intend to furnish the necessary information to modify the stock ladder, but a very serious illness in my family is limiting my time. Can't find my original post in the archives "376 swim ladder mod", (I find replies, but not the post)so will have to re-photo and describe the mod. I think it's well worth the wait, please bear with me. Thanks.

I had a new one made

Based on information received from David this past winter I had a Stainless ladder made for my 376 here in Virginia...it's a fold down and sits right on the transon so the walk-through can be open up. The craftman did a great job and it looks like it was made for the boat, fits in the side slots and all. I will post pictures this weekend....maybe under the photo forum with a new title, ie..."376 Swim Ladder"

Be pleased to assist

Hi. My wife and I owned a hunter 376 (1996 version without the rollbar) for 5 years and loved it. Let me know if you have any questions about the boat. Hallconsulting@earthlink.net

Larry, who built your latter?

When you post your pictures, how about letting us know who built it. I'm interested in one for my '98 h376.

Larry's 376 ladder

Larry, your ladder from scratch looks pretty good. It's very similar to my conversion. I would make a suggestion. It appears that a small bar was welded on to keep the hinges from sliding. This prevents you from cleaning under the hinge. My hinges are free to slide and that hasn't been a problem. I hope to repost the stock conversion soon.
