My keel bolts appear to have a slow leak. When I haul next month, I plan to tighten and or re-bed the bolts. Due to the depth of the bilge one needs a very long extension and socket. Do you have any recommendations on the best available tool and what size are the bolts and torque recommendation? Or any other advice on this issue. Thanks

Unless it is rain water, your keel stub joint may have separated enough to allow water into the joint area thus through the keel bolt holes. If it is the joint you need to have the boat lifted off the keel, clean the joint and re-bed the keel stub joint. Typically the keel bolts are not sealed. Hunter Marine can tell you the correct torque setting. If the stub joint has been compromised, torquing the bolts will not fix the problem. Applying a sealant to the outside of the joint is but a temporary fix that may or may not stop the water flow.

I cut ; grinded a 3/8 inch gap all the way around the keel boat joint calked and fared 5200 into groove then sanded 4" above and below all the way down to glass and metal and glassed in a skirt all around boat no water 5 yr. Also ya got to seal cast iron keel real well with an epoxy paint

If you have water in the cavity which most likely entered through the joint, that water is oxygen deprived and will set up keel bolt corrosion, as stated before simply tightening will make the connection strong for now.
