Hunter Legend 37.5 1995. Has anyone had trouble with their dinette table getting stuck?

When I bought Dolcezza 10 years ago, the counterweight was frozen in place inside the steel tube and I couldn't budge it. So I disconnected the cord and always lifted the table without the counterweight assist. Not a big deal, it's not that heavy.

But now, I cannot move it at all, it's really stuck solidly in the down position. Has anybody had this problem and solved it?

You might want to spray some WD-40 at the top of the tube so it can weep down the post. Let it stand for a while and watch for it to come out bottom of tube. Then spray some more and try twisting table. Should be able to raise and lower table once able to twist it freely,

There are a bunch of posts on this problem.
I might suggest reviewing these, and see what magic formula worked for others.
If I recall, wd40 by itself didn’t do the trick. This might take time to get the rust moving

I pulled my compression post earlier this year. (37.5 legend)
The counter weight is mild steel and is a close running fit to the aluminum post.
It weight around 50 to 75 pounds!
Any rust or debris can freeze the weight. I soaked mine for a week straight and tried everything to include a jack hammer to free it. Didn't budge.
In end, I decided the table wasn't that heavy after all.
