I thought that some of you might like a look at the bottom of the 356 that will be in the Pacific Sail Expo show. Splash date is the 2nd, lots of work for a few weeks and you can all see it at the show. Dan Jonas (S/V Feije)

Ted, It is standard, and it is beefy. Hunter has done a great job on this model in a lot of places. Dan Jonas (S/V Feije)

Our new 356 is almost ready to be moved to her home marina. The heat and refrigeration is in, the dodger is on. And our 16 year old daughter christened Take Five by accidentally popping the champagne inside the cabin!

phrf

thanks for the great picture. i was curious,do you know what the base phrf numbers look like on this new model. i am impressed with the lower profile bulb and the 5 ft minimum draft and i am absolutely intrigued by the depression just forward of the rudder. Even though the displacement seems a little heavy, it really looks like we may see some performance results similar to the days of the 34 and 40 deep keel designs and the 35.5 and 37.5 designs which have been the best performing hunters in our area. thanks again

PHRF

Gerald, Don't know about the PHRF rating. The 356 in the picture is 6.5' draft and there is no bulb on the keel. The shoal draft version is about 5' and does have a bulb I believe. I'll have to take a closer look at the area ahead of the rudder when I go out there today. Does anyone who has already received their 356 know if it is possible to install something other than a wheel autopilot? Whitlock makes some units that interface with their steering systems. I thought the 356 had a geared system, but a recent review in one magazine referred to it as a cable system. Any help would be appreciated. Dan Jonas (S/V Feije)
