Hunter 356 2002..Chartplotters???

Hi
We have a hunter356 2002..We bought a 12" garmin chartplotter and navpod to be mounted at the helm (onto arch rail)..Installer called yesterday and said it is too big..Suggestions on another chart plotter? We like the idea of it being mounted and in a navpod..The one that was on the bought when we purchased it this past fall was a Garmin 740S..We were hoping to have something a little larger with more capabilities...Thank you for any ideas and suggestions..

I have a C-80 Raymarine in Nav Pod at the helm and hope you can see

Fixed in a navpod, there wiil be times when glare wiil render the plotter useless. Use a clamp on arm and a tilting, swiveling base. You can still position the unit between the bars.

I like my home made mount. I remove the plotter and off the boat. Good idea in this Florida lightening capital. I can also adjust it so I can see over it it.

Sunlight

My Raymarine C-80 works in sunlight very well not any thing like my smartphone
or any computer and most raymarine work in real sunlight.
My setup came stock from Hunter when I ordered it new and love it for sure.
Real nice having all my info right at helm when needed for sure.

We've got a Simrad NX-45 (12") at the helm in a navpod and it fits - get the larger size grand prix navpod and you should be OK

We just replaced our garmin 740 on our H356 with a Raymarine e97 chart plotter I can recommend this set up. It fits perfectly on the binnacle.
The e97 does it all.

We have a Raymarine C120W in a pod on our boat. It does block the view of the two original st60 instruments but we have two st70's that display all the same information and more so the old ones never have the covers taken off.
