Hunter 340 Windlass

I am wanting to add a windlass to my Hunter 340. I was curious if anyone knew which windlass was installed on the 2000 models ? Brand, etc.

Lewmar makes a V3 with an open face that is supposed to fit most of the Hunters. You may want to check with Hunter Marine and see what they advise.

I am in the process of ordering one of these in the next week or so.

I read on another thread that the 1999 340 had a Simpson Lawrence SL00605167 windlass. I emailed Lewmar and they said a V700 was the closest thing to it.

Perfect! Thanks! I have emailed Lewmar back again to find which windlass they offer is the closest to the Vertical 1000.

Lewmar suggests a Sprint 1000 would be replaced by a V1.

I think important is the base plate with opening in front to allow chain to drop forward i.s.o. of down under.
