Hunter 340 Optional Winches

I'm installing winches on 1997 340 on the pads by the radar arch. I know they are for the spinnaker but I will be using them for the jib sheets. I'm looking for advice on how to run the sheets back to the winches. Did it require moving or modifying the jib track or traveler? The owners manual shows adding a block aft of the winches and bringing the sheet back forward to the winches. Has anyone done this and if so how far back and what size block did you use and what did you use to back it up? Lastly did you have to add anything between the jib track and block? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Do you have toe rails . prob not these newer boats do not have any place to set blocks to. Maybe eyes on rear stanchions . you have to run sheet line thru cars to estimated location for blocks then back to winch making sure low on winch so doesn't cross up

Good luck with this one.

Winches need to be mounted slightly ABOVE the last fixed point on the sheet run. Your sheets are on the cabintop near your primary winches. Bringing the sheets down to the level of the coaming would require several serious turns with carefully positioned cheek blocks. No need for it to run aft of the winch; that is for the spin sheet.
