I need to bring two more lines back to the cockpit, a total now of 6. The boat has double deck organizers on port and starbard and now I need to upgrade them to triples. I found yeaterday that when I opened up the headliner the bolts do not come through??? It seems the cabin top is double walled (hollow) and the bolts go inside this. The question is how do I change this out and back the new orginizer to give it enough strength, especially if I can get to the back side? Has anyone done this and have any insight to the problem? Thanks

You cut a hole in your headliners?

Tom: I assume that you have a mid 80's H'34. These boats have aluminum backing plates glassed into the deck. All you need to do is get another organizer and drill and tap holes as required. If you get the same brand and size you may only be tasked with drill a single hole. PS: How are you going to repair the hole in the headliners?

Do it the EASY WAY

Find another double with similiar bolt spacing and stack them up. I did it on my 34 and it worked great. I did have to do a little grinding to the forward edge of the sea hood to avoid abrasion. I left the lines on top that I used the least

Do You Have Schaefer Organizers?

Tom, My 1983 H34 came with Schaefer double organizers on each side of the mast. I wanted to run four more lines back to the cockpit. A little research turned up a double stacked "quad" organizer that fit the exact print of the double organizer that was already there. I simply removed the old, cleaned up the area, and screwed in the quads. No drilling, no nothing. An exact fit. Not all the regular suppliers have the double stacked quad. I had to look around a bit but was able to find them. Real easy and I'm quite pleased. Joe Mullee

Thanks

Thanks for the help all. It's an '86 moored in Antioch. I did not have to cut holes in the headlinger I just removed the pannel to find thier was no though bolts. I thought of the double stacked but it didn't seem like thier was enough height in the hood. The aluminum place in the cabin top makes sence and if I can determin where all it is (how big) I can easily drill and tap to make the needed upgrade. This was likly the info I needed...now about the traveler. I'll post this seperate.
