Hunter 34 Bass Control Panel Indicator lights

I have read the prior posts and answers on the above but nowhere is there an indication on how to remove an existing light from the panel. My panel had two spare AC slots and I have installed one new breaker to power a duplex and all is working well. But when I attempted to attach the indicator light I discovered that someone had cut off both wires from both lights about 1/2 inch from the light. There is enough wire to extend the wires using crimping connectors, but not with the lights in place. Not wishing to damage the lights or panel I have poked, prodded and twisted them but cannot make out how they detach, with the obvious conclusion that they either pull in or out. Please please put me out of my misery and tell me the secret!

I changed mine a long time ago. Is there a small threaded retaining ring on the back side of the bulb that unscrews? That will allow the bulb to pull out from the front.

With that tiny wire to the bulb, you may have difficulty crimping a butt connector. I would consider solder and heat shrink tubing at the splice.
