I need to replace the mainsail, in mast furling on Hunter 335. The owners manual states: P 40'11 3/4" E 14'7". Im trying to find a used one from other boats ; I saw one for a Catalina 36. What is the largest P and E that it can accommodate?

Sounds like a sketchy plan…everything I read, the in-mast furling main needs to be a very good fit to the mast, and cut for an in-mast furler.
Finding a used one that fits the bill seems like it will be difficult (and sketchy).

I agree with Greg. But if I needed to go with a used sail for whatever reason, the maximum dimensions I would use is the current sail size, So anything under your current P and E (in theory) would work with reduced performance.

I've got a brand new, like never even unfolded 8.8oz challenger furling main that was intended for my H38 but is too long in the luff and a little short on the foot. You'd need to get it recut for a few hundred, but I'd love to make a deal and get it out of my house.
