Hello.

I have a new hunter 33, and my engine has now reach 99,5 hours. I want to have the 100 hrs servicing done. Other then visual checks and oil change, is there anything else I should think about doing on the 100 hrs....

My yanmar dealer seems to think that only oil change and or perhaps fuel filter needs to be change....

Anything else, like packing shaft, adjusting the drip etc.....

Thanks for any advice

Considering it's a new boat and how long you probably expect to have it, I suggest getting the service manual .

Change the oil and the fuel filter and lubricate the throttle and stop cables. Check the transmission fluid and change if necessary.

Good Luck

Adjust the valves

Change the oil and filter. Change the fuel filters. Check the tension on all the belts. Check the impeller. Check and clean the air filter. Adjust the valves. The manual on a 3GM says to torque the head bolts and all engine bolts at 100 hrs. Check transmission fluid. Check alignment of the transmission coupling. Go over every inch of it, and check for any thing that may vibrate loose, or have come loose. Get yourself a good manual. It has all the maint. schedules in it. These engines will last forever if taken care of.

Though my ability to to a proper job was not in doubt, my dealer strongly recommended having a recognised engine company do the first (100 hr) service - so if there were any warranty issues it would be unlikely that Yanmar would duck their responsibility.
Nice is right, all the above is what they are supposed to do - but I doubt they did!

You should have a manual from Yanmar on your boat. It has all the service intervals and items to check for.

Yanmar Marine also has a maintenance videos under the Service section, that help familiarize you with the engine if this is your first.
