Hunter 320 Prop Question

Howdy all,

Probably hauling the boat to do the bottom this fall. I'm considering changing out the prop. We like sailing, of course, but we do spend a decent amount of time motoring as well. I was thinking of going from the stock 2-blade prop we have (15x12 RH) to a 3 blade. Anyone with a similar boat made a change? I'm hoping to pick up some speed for a given RPM and realize there will be a bit more drag when under sail.

Cheers all,

Kev

I've h326 which is very similar to your 320. Yanmar 2GM20F. Swap out stock prop for flexofold 2 blades 15x10RH max 3300rpm. then to 3Blade 15" KiwiProp max 3500rpm at lowest blade angle.
Love the KiwiProp for its smooth motoring but like the 2blade flexofold for its "anti foul up" property.... fouling ropes slide right off when boat coast on neutral.

Kev. Right up in your neck of the Salish Sea is the prop guru I used. KELSEY of WestbyNorth. Produce a great 3 bladed prop - Campbell Sailor. More thrust at engine speed, less prop walk, more sail speed due to reduced drag.

I’d encourage you to contact him and get a quote.

Thanks guys. I sent the request form to them with all of my information. Great reviews all around that I could find.

Replaced the prop on my Hunter 31, 386 and now 46 with a Michigan 3-bladed fixed prop, which increased motoring speed and improved backing and maneuvering.
