I have a 1997 Hunter 310 with the main sheet traveller on top of the arch. The traveller cleats are part of the track and are also on top of the arch making it difficult to access if the Bimini is installed.

I see from the Hunter drawings that subsequent boats, after hull #216, have the traveler lines run down through the arch and cleated below on the sides of the arch. I am trying to decide if I can modify my arch to run the lines through it to the cockpit and am hoping that there is a 310 owner out there with this arrangement that could send me some photos.

Thanks for any assistance

On 326 the traveller line runs down outside the arch, not through it (inside?). There's a cam each on port and starboard of arch to receive and lock the lines.
Sorry I couldn't post photos as my portable hdd had crashed, taking with it all photos. :(

Running the lines outside the arch may be a better solution as I am reluctant to start drilling into it and messing it up structurally. I spent some time looking at photos on the Internet and it looks like the 310 arch with the interior control lines is molded differently from mine. It's hard to be completely sure however, as they are mostly distance shots and don't have enough detail. I'll do a search on the 326 and see what shows up. Anybody out there have pics of the control line running outside the arch to the cockpit?

Thanks
Tim

I guess I failed to mention that my arch is fiberglass. I had another look at it today and think that this may be something I have to live with. It just seems that there are too many things that can go wrong cutting into the arch.

This is not mine but I took some pictures of the demo boat when I was buying mine back in 1999. Shows how the lines are fed down through the FG arch to the cockpit. From what you describe, I don't think it would be too difficult to install.

Great photos and just what I was looking for. Amazing how you always seem to have what I need!!

I will do some further invesrigation. The arch is molded differently from mine to accommodate the entrance and exit points but the cuts don't look so large as to affect the structural integrity. I guess the trick would be to get the internal lines running true without any chafing.

Thanks
