Hi

Before I pull the 310 out of the water to pull the shaft, rudder and cutlass bearing, I'd like to get the parts ready so cut down hardstand time.

With the 310 now being just under 20 years old, parts are wearing out / perishing,

Can anyone confirm
a) stuffing box hose - 1 3/4 inch (or 44mm) inside diameter and around 4 inch (110mm) long
b) cutlass bearing is 1 inch shaft, 1 1/4 brass outside diameter and 4 inch long
c) rudder bearings (2 of) are 3 inch inside (top) and 4 inch inside (bottom) but what are the outside diameters and length - also, has anyone used a single long bearing in lieu of the 2 separate ones

I've attached extracts of the 310 manual of the cutlass and rudder diagrams noting only partial specs supplied FYI

regards

Your rudder post is tapered between bearing-bushings and too much surface area makes too much resantance or harder stearing . not sure on cutless it is a 1" shaft this site should sell get prices from yard to do usually cheaper than buying tools and doing your self
