I need to replace a missing wire from the stop button to the stop solenoid.
Does anyone know the wire size/number of conductors for the wire ?

Bit light on details here, what kind of motor? At a guess if it is a Capri 22 a small one So I bet 18AWG will be fine.

Alternatively you can get a multimeter, measure the resistance of the solenoid, use ohms law to calculate the current I = V/R

Then use the Blue Sea Systems on-line calculator to choose the correct wire gauge considering the length of the wire and the expected current.

Other discussions in this forum have indicated a #10/3 wire is required ???

Sorry, it is a Yanmar 2gm diesel in a Hunter 31.
What year? I have an ‘83. My engine cut off is a pull knob that mechanically cuts off fuel flow to the engine.

You might try reaching out to the folks at the SBO store. They have throttle and shift cables for our boat, they may be able to source. If they can’t I have always had good success with my local Yanmar dealer.

My 2GM20 does not have a “stop” button. The “T” handle on the engine panel cuts off the fuel supply.
Also, there is a separate fuel shutoff at the fuel tank. There is no electrical solenoid type of shutoff.

Doug, you have a "GM"? My year-newer 323 2006 is a 3YM20. ANyway, the OP already said he has a stop button, maybe the Yanmar B panel??? Also, the same engine in a different manufatured boat can be configured dirfferently.
