Purchased new internal valves to repair my leaky galley faucet. Can't unscrew the existing valve from the faucet (am I a just a wimp or don't they unscrew) , and can't access the pipes leading to the faucet (to get access under the faucet) because the sink is in the way. Would appreciate some advice from anyone who has replaced the internal valves. Thank you very much, Rick

A picture would help.
Could the valve be a left-handed thread? Look at the new one to see how the threads run.

I just replaced my head faucet with a generic one from the local hardware store. It was a bit of the PITA and I had to take the shelf out from underneath the sink but doable. They sell a combo piece of hardware that can loosen the nuts holding the faucet in. You do have to get the hoses off and in my case a 4' pipe nipple extension.
