Hi I'm about to buy a Hunter 30 -1980 - that has a tiller rather than a pedistel wheel config. Where many manuf. that way ?

Not to many made. Be sure that you want a tiller before you buy. It is not cheap to change it to wheel steering later.
The tiller tends to be a PIA when you have a few people in the cockpit. If you end up wanting an autopilot it may become a major issue too.

That's a new one on me. I had no idea they even had an option for a tiller on the H30. Maybe a PO ripped out the pedestal and rigged up his emergency tiller instead. Like Steve said, be sure you like the tiller first.....the swing takes up a lot of cockpit space. Plus, if you decide to ever sell, it may be a negative.
