Hunter 30 table legs?

I recently purchased an 81 Hunter 30. The table top comes off the legs. However, I cannot get the legs to come out. Does anyone know if they are permanently secured, or if they can be removed. If so, how? They have likely been there for many years.Thanks!Randy

They're stuck!

I too have an H30 '81. When I bought the boat 2 years ago I tried to take the table down and the legs were rusted in the holes. I took a small rubber mallet and gently motovated them to come out. After removing the legs, you will probabley have to repair the the holes. Mine had become larger causing the table to rock back and forth and side to side. I used some west systems 404 epoxy to fill in where the metal had rusted or broken away. I then used a dremel tool to smooth it up so they (table legs would fit(snuggly). Incidently, my first mate discovered the table is stowed in the sea berth under the cushion. Good luck!Dan Illusions

Another Option?

I'm wondering if Hunter produced models with different options. My '81H30 also has two legs that I've not been able to remove. Probably just as well as there isn't anywhere to really put them, or the table if I was to pull them out. My port setee looks like a table could be lowered (this one can't be)to create a double berth. So I'm wondering if some boats came rigged (removable/adjustable table) to create a double berth. From a look at my configuration, the only thing I'd achieve by removing the legs is two holes in the floor--not enough space for a putting green.

mine does

My 81 H30 has a double birth on the port side. The legs come out and go inside the port side storage bin. The table goes in the sea birth over top the batteries and under the cushion. There is an outline of where and how it fits. Remove the bottom cushion on the port side and pull on the ledge, out slides the birth extension, open up the small aft door that is really the birth support replace the cushions and you have a double birth.Dan

Tight but removable

I bought an 81 Hunter 30 last year and although the table top easily came off by lifting the legs were stuck tightly. I applied some WD 40 and allowed it to soak for a day and then I could lift them out. There was no threads or any attachments to the cabin sole. By removing the table it really opens up the cabin. I too store it on the seaberth on the port aft side.
