Hunter 30 - Dodger ???s

We just purchased a 1991 Hunter 30. Excited is putting it mildly!! There is no dodger on the boat and I would really like to add one, but the traveller is right up against the sliding hatch which seems to be the problem with several models of Hunters.Doug from Olympia WA answered that he had one made for a 33.5 which turned out great and I am hoping someone can give me suggestions on who to call in this area. I would love to order from Island Nautical as the price sounds very reasonable, but I am afraid the installation would be rather difficult.Help....and thank you!!

H30 dodger

It is possible to install a dodger on your model boat. I have a 1989 H30G which I think has the same traveller arrangement as yours. The dodger works well. The only difficulty is with the main sheet. The sheet has to be lead under the bottom edge of the dodger, and that middle section of the dodger held down with an elastic cord that is attached on either side of the companionway. I mostly sail with the tranparent window at the front of the dodger rolled up anyway, since that gives better visibility and I still get overhear shelter from the solid part of the dodger.
