Does anyone have any experience highway trailering a Hunter 30 (1988-94)? I'm wondering if it's do-able and what kind of trailer is used. Thanks!

Anything is possible....

I have a friend that trailers a Cat 30. He uses a heavy duty diesel pick up that is rated to tow well over 11,000 lbs. He paid $6000 for a semi custom trailer. The beam on a H30 of that vintage is 11' which is over the limit for the roads. My friend just takes his chances but to be legal you would need a permit. Tim

You need the right trailer - $6,000 is about right. You need a permit becasue it is oversized. You need a diesel 4X4 truck. You need a way to lower and raise the mast. Other than that - go for it.

Tow What?

Really pay attention to the towing weight and tounge weight, look in the tow vehicle manual to find it' load ratings. I would not do it with anything less than an honest truck! I did once; toasted the brakes and ruined the transmission in 250 flat miles. By the time you buy a suitable trailer, tow vehicle and pay fixed and variable operating costs, you will probably be better off to have the boat moved by a commercial boat mover when necessary.
