Hats off to your fine work and thank u for your encouragement for me to replace my galley countertop.

Were you concerned about removing replacing the chain plates on the main bulkhead?

I remove easy chainplates sanded with ultra fine paper and look shine without any damage .

Beautifull paint job. I was thinking to change in dark blue with beige top and golden thin line from side. What paint did you use?
Hi Peck,

I used Interlux products:

Brightside on the deck with Prekote primer.

Interdeck (with sand) with Primekote (with epoxy) primmer.

Perfection for the hull with Primekote primer. Gun application. A fourth layer will be added with fair weather in june.

Perfection will be used for the floating line. I will do it in june too. Waiting about nice warm and dry weather!

Very easy to use in poor conditions. I am surprised of the result. I am used with car paints. Should be done not in direct sunlight and with no wind, or the less of wind.

Sorry for my bad english!

Sebastien

I dont have that aluminum strips on bilge opening and look ugly without it. Do you have any idea where can I find one
I really don't know. The one I have came with the boat when I bought it 2 years ago. It is an aluminium "T" bar bent and fixed with screws in a 3/4 inches plywood that I changed with renforced bar under it.

Beautiful work. Especially like the wood paneling to replace the cloth liner.

Looks very nice. I can't wait to get to the point where I can post some pics of my renovation. It will be awhile due to the crappy winter and wanting to get the boat water tight before I install the new interior. I am doing my walls with smooth carbonized bamboo strips. I lot cheaper and stays within my budget.

Thanks, it gives a nive look in the cabin. My parents owned a Hughes 38 for several years and ther was plenty of teak in. This was a miss in the Hunter, so I wanted to get a nice amount of wood because I like it very much.

I'd love to see pictures of your bamboo strips when it would be possible!

Peck, what are you going to do with the salon table? Are you making a new one or using the old one? I'm missing half of mine. The PO said, "Don't know where it went".

I'm trying to keep original look in new and modern style.Have idea to remove teak from edge and put on top white vinyl revarnish teak and connect everything like before. That is one idea.Maybe to glue new formica in cherry but that will be expecting and not to much modern what I want in this situation.I'm trying to have that cozy transitional from old to modern style.
